Techsyn - Case Study - Doctube

Background:

Techsyn was approached by a group of doctors who wanted to create an Over-the-Top (OTT) platform exclusively for medical professionals. The platform's aim was to allow doctors of different specialties to upload informational video content to be utilized by other medical professionals and medical students. We took up the challenge and delivered a fully functional OTT platform in just 8 months.

Technology Stacks:

To build the OTT platform, we used the following technology stacks:

Frontend: Angular, Bootstrap

Backend: Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate

Database: MySQL

Video streaming: Amazon Web Services (AWS) S3 bucket and AWS Elemental MediaConvert

Steps Involved:

Requirement Gathering: Our team held several meetings with the doctors to understand their needs and identify pain points. Based on this analysis, we created a detailed project plan and a list of features for the OTT platform.

Wireframing: Techsyn's UI/UX team created wireframes for the platform's user interface. They received feedback from the doctors and made necessary changes to the design.

Development: The development team started working on the platform's front-end and back-end simultaneously. We used Angular and Bootstrap for the front-end, and Java, Spring Boot, and Hibernate for the back-end. The backend was integrated with the MySQL database.

Video Streaming Functionality: Techsyn's development team added video streaming functionality to the platform. We used AWS S3 bucket for storing the videos and AWS Elemental MediaConvert for video transcoding.

Authentication and Authorization: Our development team implemented a secure authentication and authorization mechanism for the platform, ensuring that only authorized medical professionals and students can access the video content.

Testing: The QA team conducted thorough testing of the platform's functionality, security, and user experience. The development team fixed any bugs identified during testing.

Deployment: The platform was deployed on a cloud-based server after thorough testing.

Training and Support: Techsyn provided training to the doctors on how to use the platform effectively. They also provided ongoing technical support to the doctors.

Outcome

The OTT platform developed by Techsyn allowed medical professionals to upload and access high-quality video content, enabling them to share their knowledge and experience with others. The platform provided a user-friendly interface and real-time data insights, resulting in better decision-making and improved medical education. The ongoing technical support provided by Techsyn ensured the smooth functioning of the platform. The doctors benefited from increased productivity, better performance, and higher revenue. The platform has the potential to revolutionize medical education and research.
